Narrative

Mr. Arthur Baxter, a well-known figure at the Sydney Cricket Ground, died - on Friday, and was buried on Saturday.
He was a member of the Carthona Cricket Club, which used to put in a strong junior eleven 15 years ago. Later he went to the senior ranks, and joined the Carlton team, and was a contemporary of the late Victor Trumper — indeed was one of those who "discovered" the great right hander. After the inauguration of district cricket the late Mr. Baxter dropped out of the game, except in the capacity of a keen spectator.
His sisters were the Misses Baxter, of Arthurleigh private school, who predeceased him.
