GOLDEN WEDDING CELEBRATED
To celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of their wedding, Mr. and Mrs. H. Strutt were entertained at the home of their youngest son, Mr. Alick Strutt, Main Avenue, Rainworth, on Saturday evening. Mr. Strutt, who was born in England, left London in the s.s. Quetta in 1886, for Brisbane. He worked for 15 years at the Goldsmiths Hall Company, Queen Street, under the management of the late L. Flegeltaub. Mrs. Strutt was formerly Miss Annie Adsett, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. Adsett, Spring Hill, and was born in Brisbane.
The wedding, which took place at the home of the bride's parents, was solemnised by the Rev. W. Smith. Primitive Methodist Minister of the Leichhardt Street Church, on September 25, 1889. There are eight children, Mrs, N. Rackley, Coorparoo; Mrs. J. Lawrie, Ithaca; Mrs. J. Murray, Kedron; Miss Gladys Strutt; Mr. Albert Strutt, Kelvin Grove; Mr. Harry Strutt. Wooloowin; Mr. C. Strutt, and Mr. Alick Strutt, Rainworth. There are 21 grandchildren.
